Freisland school's project was a new block built upon the existing school site. Pda Communications were involved from the initial development phase, liasing with the building architect and the schools IT coordinator using their expertise and knowledge to achieve a cost effective, reliable, and most of all structured cabling network that could handle the traffic that the schools six IT classrooms would amass.

To achieve this the quality of the cabling was extremely important, with gigabit speeds and safety of prime concern. CAT 5e LSOH (low smoke zero halogen) cable was chosen for this design as when installed and tested to the correct standards it supports the high speeds required and is designed with safety in mind. In the event of a fire the cable will not give off harmful toxic fumes, imperative when childrens' health is involved. |

Upon completion of the design and liason with the client, deployment of the nework began immediately with the first phase of the installation completed in excellent time. The second phase involvved linking the building to the schools existing network via fibre-optic cable in an underground duct. This design provided more than adequate bandwidth for the schools' needs, both now and in the future. |
